Real Life Stories

Here you will be able to find real life stories developed by asylum seekers. This e-Library of real life stories foresees the usage of the Storytelling methodology through interactive games and writing exercises, to learn how to communicate one’s unique personal story and help affect change in the community. Asylum seekers themselves will be trained on how to use storytelling to give voice to their story and will be involved in the school piloting.

The war destroyed our country and our lives. It was a very, very difficult decision to put my children in a boat.

But we had to leave, to escape the bombs and to give our children a better future. Nobody wants to live in fear. No one wants to feel persecuted and struggle for a little human dignity.

We had a beautiful life in my country and in one moment everything was gone. That night that we got on the boat everything changed. I lost my husband and my younger child.

No human being should suffer like that. Now, we are trying to live with the scars and hope for a better future.
