Mr. I. K. was born in Syria, in Damascus. He lived in Syria, until he was 20, when he came to study in Romania. Mr. K comes from a large family.

He has 3 more brothers and 2 sisters. The parents made sure that everyone was enrolled in school, in order to have a better life. Only Mr. K. wanted to leave Syria. His brothers and sisters stayed with their parents, graduated from Syria, and started families. Arriving in Romania, Mr. K. attended the courses of the Academy of Economic Studies, during which time he met Mrs. M. The two became friends, and a few years later they got married. They had two children together: a girl, S., and a boy, M. Together, they moved to Pitesti, bought a house and opened a jewelry business.

Mr. I. K. took his newly founded family to Syria to meet his parents and siblings. However, once the military conflicts and the war started, this was no longer possible. For several years, Mr. I. K. came to know nothing about his family. Meanwhile, her parents died, her siblings lost their homes and jobs, but they managed to escape with their lives. Currently, he only keeps in touch with them by phone and they have not seen each other for several years. Due to the current situation in Syria, this will not be possible too soon.

Mr. I.K. left Syria for Romania, but his journey was not without adventures. He crossed the border on foot, along with other Syrian citizens, to Turkey. He stayed in Turkey for a few weeks and entered Bulgaria hidden in a cargo truck. Fortunately, when entering Romania, he did not encounter any difficulties, because the customs officers did not control the truck carefully. In the meantime. Mr. I.K. he obtained his Romanian citizenship and managed to travel to most of the big countries in Europe. His life is a quiet one, far from the war that grinds his country, and he takes care of the jewel he opened in the city where he currently lives. He wants to return to Syria just to see his family, not to start a new life there or to resume the one from when he was a child.
